Land Acknowledgement
Currently living in the ancestral and unceded territory of the Tsalaguwetiyi (Cherokee) and the S’atsoyaha (Yuchi) people.
I recognize the historical horrors committed against them for centuries as well as their current struggles, and honor their resilience, knowledge and traditions. I recognize that colonization is an ongoing process and commit to a sustained effort to deconstruct my teaching, research, pedagogy, and service while honoring and reconnecting to indigenous ancestry.
I believe in diversity, equity, and justice through the intersectional lens of antiracism. I am committed to dismantling white supremacy, anti-blackness, patriarchy, and continuing to grow in other intersections of life and identity.
